Alcohol and Drug Services
Our alcohol and drug services, which are administered by our experienced and qualified workforce , can assist you in adhering to legal requirements and determining whether alcohol and drug usage is having an impact on the productivity of your business.
Kinds of Testing
The following kinds of drug and alcohol tests are provided by Compact response:
- Pre-Employment (only for positions that are safety-critical; call to discuss)
- Pre-assessment exams (for new hires)
- Random Testing (according to business policy or out of suspicion)
- For Cause Examination (during an incident)
- Chain of Custody and dipstick (urinalysis) drug tests are both available. The best testing technique for situations that are likely to go to a tribunal or “For Cause Testing” because of a specific work-related occurrence is chain of custody testing because it is legally enforceable.
- Breath analysis is used for alcohol testing.
It is necessary to have a drug and alcohol policy or procedure in place before scheduling any drug and alcohol testing. Why, one may wonder. Because you (as an organisation) require a protocol for handling test results that are positive. You might want to talk about this with your HR advisors or department. Should you require assistance, Compact response can help.
Referrals as well as counselling
After the results, Compact Response can set up therapy and additional referrals to outside organisations if necessary.

For all kinds of businesses, Compact Response provides a random drug and alcohol testing approach that entails testing staff members in compliance with corporate guidelines.
Employee informed permission is required for all of our operations in order to:
- Submit to drug and/or alcohol testing, and when necessary, let the employer receive the test results.
We use an approved quick urine test that yields a qualitative answer in a matter of minutes for drug testing.
The method used for alcohol screening is a breathalyser test, much to the ones used by police departments in the UK.
Normally, a laboratory is consulted for confirmation of results and to rule out false positives for any positive results.
Routine testing can usually be done at a client’s location with prior consent. If employees get tested at our medical centre during business hours, there is little chance of “for cause” testing.
Please get in touch with us to go through your specific testing requirements if they are not included above.
